Jim Denevan

Thought I would let the series know that one of the original Old Timers passed this week. He was 87. #17. Jim raced the DOB for years, Millville, Sioux Falls, Arizona Old Timers, and World Vets. Jim started the vet classes in Minnesota. First the 30+….and later all the way up. At first, the age group classes ran with the girls, as many times Jim was the only one. All the women racers knew and loved Jim. Jim was actually Dr Jim Denevan, as he was unversity professor and a baseball and football coach. He started racing at age 36, and raced into his mid 70’s. Rest in Peace old friend.
