It’s a Wrap

I love this one. Wife gives me a hard time every time I use it…but it doesn’t deter me. The last race of the year at Byron was fun. Track was well prepared, and watered. Weather was cool at night, and warm and sunny during the day. Sure wish we would have better turnouts for the finale. Don and Dave had the year end awards ready for all classes. A lot of work goes into the series, and we certainly appreciate all the tracks that joined in with us.

Friday was especially nice, as Aaron left the track open from noon to five for riding. Think I rode a bit much, as I was too spent to ride my last moto on Saturday. That give me the opportunity to watch Rick Monson and Tim Boblin race it out for the last 60+ win of the year. Tim darted and covered every inside line available, but on the last lap Rick held it on, around a “ribbon” berm on the outside to get next to Tim over a jump that led to an inside line of his own. Great racing all year.

Wow, Red Bud for MX des next year. Seems as though the Euro’s need the Yanks to make it “happen”. Did like Thunder Valley, as you could climb a rock and see the entire track. Still remember watching “Teddy Ruxpin” clearing the biggest jump on the track on his 250 Suzuki. He had his nose on the tip of the front fender to get the last couple of feet.

We are looking for improvements in the series for next year, as we want to grow it, and keep the momentum. If you have suggestions or thoughts, let us know.

This is great time of the year to try a hare scrambles or some grand prix kind of race. If you never have done one, give it a go. Millville has great on this weekend, Oct 3.
